Annotator

Privacy policy

Annotator — last updated 2026-11-01.

Summary

Annotator runs entirely in your browser. It sends nothing to Jambu or anyone else. There is no account, analytics, advertising or telemetry.

What it handles

Only after you invoke it on a page, and only for your review:

Data Purpose Where it stays
Your comments and drawings The annotations themselves This browser profile
Page URL and title Group annotations by page This browser profile
Text you select, and nearby text Find the annotation again This browser profile
Element details: tag, role, accessible name, allow-listed attributes Identify what you pointed at This browser profile
Screenshots you take Attach visual evidence This browser profile
Page text, when you choose a format with page context Build that export This browser profile

Data leaves your browser only when you copy or download an export and put it somewhere yourself.

What it avoids

Storage and removal

Annotations live in the extension’s own storage, which web pages cannot read. Delete sessions on the sessions page. Removing the extension deletes all its data.

Limited Use

The use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide the annotation feature, is not transferred to third parties, and is not used for advertising, for credit decisions, or read by humans.
